Small Goals for Grad School
*This post is not sponsored but I was sent these items to test out & review. All opinions are my own
Today is my third official day of classes as a graduate student! For those of you who do not follow me on Instagram, I am pursuing my masters degree in Communication Sciences from Northwestern University. I completed my undergraduate degree at Purdue University in Hospitality and Tourism Management and, ideally, i’d love to marry those two and turn it into a career! Maybe open up my own business one day!
When High Brew reached out to me a little over a month ago to test out some new cold brew flavors, I knew I wanted to say yes! Not only am I an actual fan of the brand and have seen it’s growth in popularity throughout the city of Chicago but I also feel like I am the perfect person to review such a product; I am a sleep-deprived grad student for crying out loud!
They sent me 6 delicious flavors but Dairy Free & Mexican Vanilla are my two favorite! If you want to read about the other 6, go to my Instagram and click on this post.
I want to take this coffee driven post to briefly talk about my goals for graduate school. Not necessarily anything with my career, but just with life and where I am at right now. I am not going to lie… I am sleep deprived, my diet is so random right now (I basically survive on fruit and wine), I haven’t worked out consistently over a month and I feel like I am constantly catching up on something. I need to get back onto a strick schedule, and I know that! I am the kind of person that needs to write things down and follow a planner in order to remember things. My “biggest” small goal with graduate school is to get back into that schedule and to beat my ever filled calender with events.
I just started a new job, and I feel as though this is the perfect time to truly get back on the grind. I am working a steadier job that gives me consistent hours. With this job I will be able to grow my skill-set but also lead a healthier work-life balance. I always preach self love, self care and health on my blog… it is a very large part of my life. Through this time of stress, I am happy to say that I have stuck with my health as much as I could have! I still wake up and drink my morning SporTea (use my code NatalieSPORTEA for 15% off), eat a healthy breakfast, try to cook a good dinner and breathe whenever I get a chance. When I am extra tired, I will add some cold brew from High Brew for that extra kick that I need. In no place am I struggling to stay afloat, but just serving some realness that life can get tough sometimes and not everyone has it together!
To be completely honest… this post is a HOT MESS. I came on here tonight to rant about what is on my mind and what I am doing to cope with it. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend filled with love and laughter. Next time you are at the grocery store, pick up some High Brew and let me know how you like it! Use the #ForThoseWhoDo to show me how you are pushing yourself to be YOUR BEST SELF!
